Last week, it was all about Rory McIlroy and the men at the U.S. Open. This week, it's all about the best women golfers in the world chasing one of their major championships.
A world-class field of players will tee it up starting Thursday during the Wegmans LPGA Championship in western New York. The four-day tournament, held at Locust Hill Country Club in Pittsford (a suburb of Rochester), marks the second major of the LPGA season. It is the first of three majors held over the next six weeks, with 150 players chasing a share of the $2.5 million purse that includes a first-place check of $375,000 for the winner.
